JESUS PART I

I looked at the earth, but that wasn't enough,
I delved into the world, in what y'all would call the unknown,
Knowing very well it would be more than enough.

A couple of people celebrated,
A few wise men and simple shepherds,
But it wasn't simple.

No action 'till I was in my thirties,
Not 'coz I couldn't do it,
But the appointed time had not reached.

It was fire when it started, one that could never be quenched,
My father's hand and favor was upon me,
And never was He ashamed to tell them about me.

Speaking of shame, I could not believe my eyes
How could they do this to us? After all we'd done for them to prove our existence,
They wallowed in their sin, masquerading as saints

HAPPY JAMHURI DAY

Jamhuri....Independence, Freedom.

A great day for all Kenyans worldwide. It was a real struggle, some of us might not quite grasp the magnitude of where we were. Nonetheless we can't help but feel grateful.

It's freedom from the colonial rule. The opression of the Blacks by Whites. The belief we are equals with dogs. Some great news, huh?

But then again, are We truly free? We constantly look up 2the white people for solutions. We believe whatever they say, dress or invent goes. When someone (Kenyan) so much as thinks of inventing an aeroplane, (s)he is quickly dismissed...or the story is highlighted for everyone to see but that's all. Not even the government or a tycoon will pick up the idea & do something about it. Why? "Za wazungu ni better quality" or some other dumb excuse.

Are we truly free when the rich get richer & the poor struggle 2make them trillionaires? When leaders can't grasp the concept of servanthood? Very sad! Our nation is at its knees due to corruption. It has become a song that unites us all. I suppose by now it can be one of the characteristics in the hashtag 'Ukenya Ni'

Are we truly free when Kenyans constantly live in fear? Terror attacks from left to right. How can students be attacked and wait eight good hours for help? What was happening all that time? Was help coming from abroad? Ni sawa.., yaliyopita si ndwele, tugange yajayo.

Are we truly free when forty-two percent of Kenyans live below the poverty line? We can barely afford basic needs, how in heaven's name do they think we can afford all these taxes? And to make it worse they're swindling us?

It's okay, it's a happy day. As our National Anthem clearly states, God is our strength. We shall continually be proud of our nation. We shall forget tribalism and join forces in Twitter wars, national disasters & celebrations. Why? Because we are Kenyans; we overlook the bad & focus on the good. We forgive where many can't & we strive to take our place in the global spotlight.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KENYA!!

'LOVE SONG'

Love, a four letter word,
12,15, 22 & 5 make this alphabetical cord
Everyone's heard of it once, twice or a hundred times before,
Till I'm sure there was a time it became a bore.

Everyone searches for it,
High, low begging for it,
How many have encountered it
And are still desperate for it?

It's something we all need,
Planted in our hearts was that seed
Even before we landed on earth,
It was destined for everyone at birth.

But do we know where it comes from?
And how it stopped the heavenly storm?
How it made the King of Kings come down in our form,
And die on the cross so we could be reborn?

Yeah I know the story is long,
A bore is what has become of the song
Tell me something I don't know
As silly as our minds go
